Coleman Powersports – 911 Ride to Remember

September 11, 2000 is my generations’ John F. Kennedy or Martin Luther King Assignation, a monumentally tragic day none of us will forget. Since this attack on our Freedom, there have been numerous related outreach events and remembrance rides throughout the country.

Coleman Powersports annually recognizes this day in American history with a remembrance ride from their location in Woodbridge, VA to one of the sites forever changed by the attacks, our military’s command central, the Pentagon in Arlington VA. As with other rides, there is the obvious somber moments as the Riders show their respects at the Pentagon’s 911 memorial. However, there is a bright side as well. Rather than ending the ride at the Pentagon, it’s final destination is Hard Times Cafe back in Woodbridge, VA for an opportunity of solidarity while sharing a laugh and stories with a fellow rider. “There’s no doubt that what took place on 9/11 was a tragedy for our entire country ” says James “Big Man” Wells, Coleman Powersports’ General Manager. “I want to give everyone an opportunity on this remembrance day to not only show their respects, but to also celebrate our unbreakable patriotic spirit letting the world know we’re still here and stronger than ever”. he continued with resilience.

Given the volume of Riders that joined from different areas across the DMV consisting of men and women, the young and older, independent riders, as well as club members, rolling on baggers and sportbikes, it was apparent that others shared Big’s and our Nation’s resilient unbreakable spirit.
