Fit Father’s Day Inagural Celebration, Car & Bike Show
Father’s Day is generally a day when Dads are recognized with ties, cologne gift boxes, or worse… short sets and sweat suits. While such gifts are admirable and as Dads we will graciously say thank you and accept, I’m here to offer a healthy, active, fun-for-the-family alternative moving forward, Fit Fathers Day.
This past Fathers Day, Veteran’s Park in downtown Silver Spring, MD was full of energy, exercise and excitement with the inaugural launch of Fit Fathers Day hosted by the not-for-profit organization Fit Fathers.
“It’s time for men to rise to the occasion and positively lead their loved ones.” Says Fit Fathers Founder Mr. Kimatni Rawlins. “Ultimately, nutritional eating, a conscious focus on overall wellness, and regular exercise will keep us all breathing easy, running further, swimming faster, cycling longer, and laughing harder,” Rawlins adds.
For some, Fit Fathers Days was an opportunity to get out and join other dads for fun exercises and contests ranging from push-ups, free-throws, and pull-ups. For others, it was an opportunity used a springboard to make a change for a healthier lifestyle not only for themselves, but for their kids with setting a positive active example.
After Mr. Rawlins got the crowd pumped up with an invigorating warm-up, he turned things over to fitness expert and celebrity Nike Trainer Deanna Jefferson with exercise routines geared towards all levels of fitness from expert to beginner all of which were performed with liveliness, zest and fun in an encouraging and supporting style.
Speaking of the kiddies, there were plenty of activities for the little ones with a Capoeira Angola demonstration that honored Brazil and the World Cup, and the crowd favorite Greenbelt S.I.T.Y Stars dazzled everyone with their electrifying Double Dutch moves
And what is Fathers Day without a cars and motorcycles? Not to take away from the day’s focus, Fit Fathers Day also consisted of a car and bike show powered by Mazda, Volkswagen USA, the Washington Auto Show, Automotive Rhythms and Throttle Life.
Beyond the satisfaction of wining the one of the day’s contest, Fit Fathers provided gift bags and prizes courtesy of Shoe City, BOSE, and Mothers Car Care products, each company gladly donating products to help support this very noble day.
Kudos to the Fit Fathers team for proving there are Fathers out here that are not only involved, but actively involved. For more coverage be sure to check out FitFathers.com
