2013 National Bikers Roundup – Tunica Turns Up!
Tunica, MS welcomed approximately 35,000 riders from across the U.S. to take part in the 36th Annual National Bikers Roundup aka the Roundup.
In addition to having an estimated local economic impact of $3M to the Tunica metro area, the Roundup also brings quality entertainment such as R&B artist Avant along with the sensational KeKe Wyat. Not to be outdone by the “younger” performers in the entertainment line-up, the legendary and very animated Bobby Rush put on an exciting show filled with energy, fun and a little sexy naughtiness…not bad for someone who recently celebrated his 80th birthday.
The Roundup also offers a social awareness and outreach effort component. This year’s Sister to Sister information seminars included, but certainly not limited to Motorcycle Safety, Event Sponsorships with Lynn Austin, and Personal Safety Techniques with Bobby Reed. And let’s not forget the Roundup’s time honored Charity Food Drive and Walk in support of the Odessa Grant Food Pantry.
Breaking tradition, the Roundup Executive Committee announced the location of the 2014 Roundup during the Roundup rather than on the last day of the Roundup. Not having any bids for 2014, the Executive Committee took advantage of this opportunity to host the 2014 Roundup bringing their 30+ years of experience to the Tulsa Oklahoma Raceway, once again infusing the drag racing element into the Roundup.
With quality entertainment, successful and passionate outreach efforts, fellowship and of course the bikes, it’s easy to see why the Roundup continues to be one of the best and largest attended rallies in the U.S., not to mention the economic impact it brings to the hosting city.
See you in Tulsa!
