Rolling Thunder XXVIII 2015

Once again for Memorial Day, the streets of the Nation’s Capital thundered to life with hundreds of thousands of bikers from throughout the country for the annual Rolling Thunder Washington, DC Inc. Rolling Thunder, Inc. National

Sure, we’ve all heard of the massive number of bikes and how impressive it is to witness such a sight particularly for the tourist and non-bikers, but let’s not forget these Riders are riding not only in remembrance of their brothers and sisters of the armed services that were captured and became prisoners of war (P.O.W) and those missing in action (M.I.A.s), but to also bring attention to those P.O.W.s still being held captive and those still M.IA.

As a symbolic gesture for the essence of the Ride sits a lone P.O.W. in single bamboo tiger cage as a reminder of the sacrifice and suffering our service members have endured for our Freedoms.

For those that have given their all and paid the ultimate price of sacrifice, we say Thank You and will never forget. #RollingThunder #ThrottleLife

Memorial Day is more than hot dogs, hamburgers and neighborhood pool openings to kick-off the summer months. For some, there’s much more to this national holiday as they take to the streets to show what Memorial Day means to them.
Once again the streets of the Nation’s Capital thundered to life with hundreds of thousands of bikers from throughout the country for the annual Rolling Thunder memorial ride to honor and pay tribute to our prisoners of war (P.O.W.) and those missing in action (M.I.A.) to faithfully show their respect for those that dutifully served in our armed forces.

We’ve all heard of the massive number of bikers that literally fill the streets of Washington D.C. and how impressive it is to witness such a spectacular sight particularly for the tourist and non-bikers. However, let’s not forget these bikers are riding not only in remembrance of their brothers captured and became POWs and those MIA, but to also bring attention to POWs still being held captive as well as those still MIA.
As a symbolic gesture at the core and essence of this memorial ride sits a lone gray-bearded and withered POW in a cramped bamboo tiger cage as he is carried by members from each branch of service to the main stage proudly situated at the bottom of the Lincoln Memorial to serve as a reminder of the sacrifices and suffering our service members have endured for our Freedoms.
For those that have given their all and paid the ultimate price of sacrifice, I say Thank You and will never forget.
