Energetic, determined and focused are just a few words that aptly described this go-getter. As one of the driving forces behind the scenes with Throttle Life, it is our pleasure to bring to you Melissa Jones aka D-Lite, Public Relations Officer for the DC/MD/NOVA chapter of the #1 Stunnas.

How long have you been riding?
3 1/2 years.

What sparked your interest in riding?
I started on the back of a friends bike. I loved it so much I had to get my own bike.Needless to say, I don’t like ridding on the back anymore. Riding truly gives me a sense of freedom.

What do ride?

Nija 2007 ZX-6R Hot Red in color

Do you belong to a club? If yes, why?

I belong to the #1 STUNNAS DC/MD/NOVA chapter and I am the P.R.O. (Public Relations Officer). As a new rider I was looking for safe people to ride with. I enjoy being part of a club and the social experience that comes along with it.

Your most memorable ride(s)

Last past year I did a 1,500 mile trip over 4 days with an average of 8 hours a day of riding and Sunday being the only day of rest. We left MD heading for TENN. Along the way we road a course with 300 turns up and down hill. Once we finished our travels in TENN it was on to Atlanta for a day of rest before heading back to VA and MD on Monday. After accomplishing a ride like that I believe I can do any ride now and it was all done on ZX-6R.

Background/Occupation/Hobbies:

Originally from Long Island, NY I’m divorced with two grown daughters. I work for Consulting Engineers as an Electrical Designer. When I’m not on my bike you can find me in the gym teaching aerobics and weight training 3 days a week. I’m proud to say I just celebrated 10 years as an instructor.

Any advice for new riders?

Ride your ride… take it slow.
