Lea “Dream Catcher” Martinez – A survivor on and off the track

Lea Martinez

Lea “Dream Catcher” Martinez, is not your average female motorcycle drag racer. This mother of two is also a breast cancer survivor. Although racing was in her blood since she was young girl with her father racing pro-stock cars, Lea didn’t begin riding motorcycles until she was 37. Once she did, she was drawn back to the adrenaline filled life on the track, this time on a 2007 Suzuki Hayabusa.

Being a breast cancer survivor, Lea realized she had an opportunity and obligation to do her part to raise awareness for this life threatening affliction. With the help of Garwood Custom Cycles, her 2007 ‘Busa underwent a transformation to serve as a “keep fighting” testament of will, determination and faith under the moniker “Awareness.” Garwood Custom Cycles is no stranger when it comes to outreach and tribute motorcycles, so this was a perfect match of talents. “Lea a strong determined woman with an unbreakable spirit,” says Steve Garwood.” It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to work directly with her.” he continued.

Lea “Dream Catcher” Martinez, we salute and thank you!
