Just the 2 of Us – Dollar Bill and Baby Girl Rolling the O’mens m/c Way

Sharon “Baby Girl” Peterson-Griffin and Horrace “Dollar Bill” Griffin, members of the Ft. Washington, MD chapter of the O’mens m/c have been riding together happily with their own bikes for years.

However, that’s not how they started. Baby Girl started out as a passenger on the back of Dollar Bill’s bike, that is until, as she puts it “I grew bored with the view from the passenger’s seat, so it was time for a change”. From that point on, she was determined to ride her own ride..and she did. She already knew the basics of riding a motorcycle, but wanted to fine tune her skills, so she enrolled in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s (MSF) program. “Although I knew how to ride, I took the MSF program because there are skills and techniques taught you may have forgotten or simply didn’t know” she continued. After the course, she quickly got her license, got her own bike with Dollar Bill’s more than willingness to help. Needless to say she hasn’t been on the back of a bike since. When it came to her choice of bikes, sport-bikes weren’t even a consideration. “I knew I was too much of a dare-devil and adrenaline junkie to go the sport-bike route, so a cruiser was a no-brainer for me” she said laughingly. Baby Girl picked up a 2006 Harley-Davidson Softail Deluxe, smoothed it out with a slick white and yellow paint job, accented with an orange tribal pattern trimmed in green from the front fairing to the saddle bags, visually coming together to find the cutest yet meanest little Tweety-Bird perched on the rear fender as if to say “yeah, so what about it.” “We enjoy riding together”, says Dollar Bill. “It gives us a chance to get out as a couple and enjoy something we both like, riding” he continued.

Like many of us, Dollar Bill (a 10 year Air Force vet) began his riding days on a sport-bike, a Kawasaki ZX-9 to be specific. After a short period of time he moved up to a ZX-12 where he was content until his cousin convinced him to “step-up” to a Harley. Dollar Bill’s first reaction was “naw, not yet”. Given that he was only 27 year old and not even remotely interested in an “old-mans” bike as he described it. That is until he actually rode his cousin’s Harley. As they say, the rest is history. He picked up a 2005 Harley-Davidson Electra Road Glide and let his Kawi sit for an entire year before finally deciding to let it go, putting his sport-bike days behind him. With help from Raphael Proctor of Clinton, MD’s Artistic Creations, they created one of the cleanest baggers on the streets with a unique multi-color pearlescent paint job with the style and finesse of the west coast scene.

Most of us would be more than happy with Dollar Bill’s current attention grabbing Road Glide. However, being one to always grind harder, Dollar Bill and Raphael have come together again to create another monster-piece currently in the works they’re patiently preparing to unleash on the streets. Throttle Life has been lucky to see some of the sneak pix. Trust me, God has given them a vision the streets aren’t ready for and we can’t wait to share it with you the Throttle Life way!
