A peek into one of the fastest growing and most controversial segments in the motorcycle community endearingly known as the “Bike Life” is coming to select theaters nationwide on January 31st by way of Director Lotfy Nathan’s documentary debut “12 O’CLOCKBOYS” from Oscilloscope Laboratories.

Told from the eyes a Pug, a young admirer of the 12 O’ClockBoys, the film provides a raw compelling look into the fast and dangerous life growing up in the streets of Baltimore on 2s and quads. Stay tuned for our full review.

Excerpt from Oscilloscope Laboratories:

The most thrilling trip into Baltimore since The Wire, the film is a stirring, up-close ride with a notorious urban dirt bike crew, poetically seen through the eyes of a young boy determined to join their ranks. After its critically acclaimed premiere at SXSW, the film went on to win numerous awards on the festival circuit (including the Emerging Artist Award at Hot Docs), and will open in LA, NY, Baltimore, Portland, San Francisco, and 10 other markets Friday, January 31st. 12 O’CLOCKBOYS will also simultaneously premiere across all digital and Video On Demand platforms.

To Baltimore locals, the 12 O’Clock Boys are hooligans – a group of urban dirt-bikers that perform death-defying stunts at excessive speeds through traffic and impressively evade the hamstrung police, who must adhere to a no-chase policy to maintain public safety. Yet they are heroes to Pug, a bright, young adolescent living in the city’s dangerous Westside neighborhood with his charismatic mother Coco, extended family, and a menagerie of animals to which he tends in his long-standing hope to be a veterinarian. Yet as his obsession with the 12 O’Clock Boys grows, his desire to join the bikers begins eclipsing everything else in his life, much to Coco’s dismay. Filled with stunningly kinetic footage that puts the viewer on up-close ride-alongs with the bikers, 12 O’CLOCK BOYS provides a compelling and personal story of a young boy and his dangerous, thrilling dream.
